The secret of foreign language classrooms that work is to get the students to be truly competent in the language of learning and to use it naturally in real contexts of their lives. What are the characteristics of these classrooms and the teachers who work there? What kinds of school learning situations are needed to help all students meet this challenge?
In this course, we propose the construction of a tailor-made improvement proposal for your foreign language classrooms with the aim of making them more effective. We will achieve this by reflecting on key topics such as teaching and learning competence in foreign languages, approaches that facilitate learning competence in a foreign language, the work of linguistic content in a framework of learning competence, assessment for learning, and learning in the foreign language classroom, among others.
Provide teachers with tools for the design of competence assessments for learning and to support learning.
Help the teaching staff to build a tailored improvement proposal based on the analysis of their own practice.
Train and equip foreign language teachers with tools to create competence-based learning activities.
Foster teachers’ engagement with methodological proposals that achieve more meaningful and in-depth learning.
Identify key points that allow us to develop materials and competence-based activities in foreign language classrooms.
